Kenia Walker, PA
I am a board-certified Physician Assistant practicing in psychiatry in the Rio Grande Valley since 2009. I graduated in 2008 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where I was awarded a dual degree in Bachelor of Science in Health Care Sciences and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
I was born in Mexico and moved to the Rio Grande Valley at three years of age. Before becoming a Physician Assistant, I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in 1999, followed by a Masters degree in Biotechnology in 2001.
After graduation, I worked as a research assistant in pathological studies of prosthetic devices, where I gained a wealth of medical knowledge. This experience was the catalyst that led me to pursue a more active role in patient care. Shortly after becoming a Physician Assistant, I moved back to the Rio Grande Valley with the goal of serving my community where I have deep roots.
I have been afforded the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of settings including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Correctional Psychiatry, and Hospital Inpatient care. I feel extremely privileged to be part of a strong and passionate JNC team, with a shared vision of serving the Rio Grande Valley.
