Adult Anxiety Disorders

These disorders are based on displaying fear to know and unknown triggers. Fear is a normal emotion that helps us to anticipate danger and preserve our physical and emotional integrity. This is part of a system to assure our survival in nature.

 

​Anxiety begins to be an issue when it persists without an identifiable trigger. It can become very pervasive, disabling and impacting our social and occupational functioning.

 

Some of the diagnosis include in this category include Specific Phobia, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Substance (drugs)/Medication Induced Anxiety Disorder.

Long term suffering of these disorders can have a detrimental impact on the brain’s biology to the point of becoming chronic and disabling. Early diagnosis and treatment are of paramount importance.
